Socio-Environmental Immersion Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC), located in Annapolis, Maryland, invites applications for two-year postdoctoral fellowships that begin in June 2020.

Graduate Leaders in Socio-Environmental Synthesis Workshop

The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) invites applications from master's and doctoral students for the first ever Graduate Leaders in Socio-Environmental (S-E) Synthesis workshop. 

 

NEON Airborne Observation Platform (AOP) Workshop
Deadline: Dec 06, 2019

The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) invites applications from a diverse array of scientists for a three-day workshop in January 2020 focused on how National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) Airborne Observation Platform (AOP) data could be used in socio-environmental (S-E) synthesis and convergent research.

 

2020 Bayesian Modeling for Socio-Environmental Data Short Course
Deadline: Feb 01, 2020

The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) will host a 11-day short course on Monday, June 1 to Thursday, June 11, 2019 covering basic principles of using Bayesian models to gain insight from data.

Short-Term Visitors
Deadline: Dec 31, 2021

Short-term visitors are scholars in residence at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) from two weeks to two months who work on synthesis projects.

Sabbatical & Research Fellowships
Deadline: Dec 31, 2021

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please contact SESYNC prior to submitting a proposal.

Sabbatical & Research Fellowships are awarded to established scholars who will be in residence at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) or the Resources for the Future facility for 2–12 months to undertake activities that will advance socio-environmental synthesis research.

Propose a Short Course

The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) supports short courses on topics relevant to socio-environmental systems, the synthesis process, data management and analysis, or cyberinfrastructure tools. Short-courses are typically 3–10 days in duration.

Policy & Practice Fellowships
Deadline: Dec 31, 2021

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please contact SESYNC prior to submitting a proposal.

Policy & Practice Fellows propose short-term visits (<2 months) in which they interact with the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) community in Annapolis, Maryland.

Maryland Fellows
Deadline: Dec 31, 2021

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please contact SESYNC prior to submitting a proposal.

Maryland Fellows are scholars from University System of Maryland (USM) universities or other institutions within commuting distance who apply to work at the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) during periods of leave or sabbatical from their home institutions.

Foundations
Deadline: Dec 31, 2021

Foundations are SESYNC recruited projects on critical, emerging or understudied topics, or efforts that bring new disciplinary perspectives to S-E scholarship.
